Upgrade and Repositioning of South East Blackwater Buoy

Area: East Coast of Ireland

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that on or about the 13 January 2009 (or as soon as possible thereafter) the Southeast Blackwater Buoy will be upgraded to an East Cardinal Superbuoy and moved 0.8 Nautical miles Eastwards. The upgraded buoy will feature a larger daymark and be equipped with a 6 mile light, Racon and AIS (Automatic Identification System).
At the same time the East Blackwater Buoy will be permanently withdrawn.
