The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that the Drogheda Leading Lights located at the approaches to the River Boyne which were discontinued indefinitely on the 21st June 2000 (CIL Notice to Mariners No. 5 of 2000 refers) have now been PERMANENTLY WITHDRAWN.
The Harbour approach channel has undergone dredging operations and aids to navigation development. The new port entry light (Admiralty List of Lights No. 5910.5) has been operational under trial since 21st June 2000 when it became the primary approach aid for vessels entering the River Boyne.
The attention of mariners is drawn to Drogheda Port Company's Notice to Mariners No. 5 of 2000 and subsequent notices which give details of changes to aids to navigation in the River Boyne, including the new Port Entry Light
