Carlingford Lough Leading Lights - Temporary Reduction in Range and Establishment of New Synchronised Solar Powered Lights

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that they intend to replace the present lights at Carlingford Leading Lights with solar powered lights having synchronised flash characteristics.
To facilitate the replacement of the existing lights, temporary lights with reduced range will be exhibited for approximately one week commencing on the 13th August 1999. The lights will not be synchronised and will be exhibited during the hours of darkness only.
On or about the 20th August 1999, or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, the new synchronised solar powered lights will be exhibited during the hours of darkness only.
The character, phasing, and ranges of the existing, temporary and new solar lights are as follows:
