The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that on Monday 16th September 2002, or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, the present light at Scattery Island Lighthouse (A6342) will be replaced with a new Solar Powered Light.
The character, phasing and lighting times of the existing and new lights are as follows:
EXISTING LIGHT
Position: 52° 36.3' N 09° 31.1' W
Character: Fl (2) W 7.5 s. (fl 1.0, ec 1.0, fl 1.0, ec 4.5 = 7.5)
Lighting Time: 24 hours
NEW SOLAR POWERED LIGHT
Position: 52° 36.3' N 09° 31.1' W
Character: Fl (2) W 8s. (fl 0.5, ec 1.0, fl 1.0, ec 6.0 = 8.0)
Lighting Time: Hours of Darkness
All other details remain unchanged.
A Radio Navigational Warning will be issued when the above alteration takes place.
