Blackrock Mayo Lighthouse - Temporary Reduction in Range of Light and Establishment of a New Solar Light

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that they intend to replace the present light at Blackrock Lighthouse (Mayo) with a solar powered light.
To facilitate the replacement of the existing light, a temporary light with reduced range will be exhibited for approximately one month commencing on the 12th July.
On or about the 3rd August 1999, or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, a new solar powered light will be exhibited during the hours of darkness only.
The character, phasing, and ranges of the existing, temporary, and new solar lights are as follows:
