Skelligs Rock Lighthouse - Solarisation, Alteration in Character, and Reduction in Range of Navigational Light

Aid: Skelligs Rock Lighthouse

Area: South West Coast of Ireland

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that on 11th October 2001, or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, the light at Skelligs Rock Lighthouse (A6422) will be replaced by a new solar powered light. This will necessitate the provision of a temporary light for a period of approximately two weeks from about 1st October 2001.
The character, phasing and ranges of the existing, temporary and new lights are as follows:
