Lower Rosses Point - Temporary Reduction in Range and Establishment of a New Light with Increased Range

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that they intend to replace the present propane light at Lower Rosses Lighthouse with a new electric light with increased range. To facilitate the replacement of the existing light, a temporary light with reduced range will be exhibited for approximately two months commencing on the 31st August 1999.
On or about the 26th October 1999, or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, a new electric powered light with increased range will be exhibited.
The character, phasing, and ranges of the existing, temporary, and new electric lights are as follows:
