Replacement of ARKLOW LANBY by a Superbuoy (ALL No: 5845)and withdrawal of the South Arklow Buoy

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that on or about Monday 17 August 2009, or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, it is intended to permanently withdraw the Arklow LANBY (52° 39.548'N 05° 58.145'W) and replace it with a Superbuoy equipped with a light, Racon and AIS as described below. The Assigned Position of the new buoy will be approximately 8 cables to the NNW of the previous position of the Arklow Lanby and will be named South Arklow.

At the same time the present South Arklow Buoy (52° 40.812'N 05° 59.230'W) will be withdrawn.
