Dublin Festival of History will be hosting two talks next week that will explore and commemorate the history of Irish Lights.
On 5 October at 6.30 PM, in an event presented by the Irish Society for Archives, Archivist Niamh Collins will give a talk entitled The History of Irish Lights. This will provide an introduction to the Archive, with stories from its Collections. Tickets available on Eventbrite:
On 7 October at 7.00 PM, in an event presented by Irish Lights, Dr Eoin Kinsella will give a talk entitled Lighthouses, Lightships and the Commissioners of Irish Lights, Safeguarding Ireland’s Coasts 1914–23. The talk will explore this pivotal decade in Irish history from the unique perspectives the Lightkeepers stationed around the Irish coast. Tickets available on Eventbrite:
