Irish Lights is currently recruiting a Navigation Advisory Services Officer on a specified purpose contract for a minimum duration of 8 months. The role will report to the Navigation Services Manager and will work closely with the Local Aids to Navigation Lead and other members of the Navigation Maritime and Consenting (NMC) team.
This specified purpose contract would be an ideal opportunity for an experienced mariner with commercial sea-going and/or shore-based experience. The role is varied involving a mix of office based work, home based work and travel. A full clean driving licence is essential as a hire car is provided for coastal travel. The statutory aspect of the role requires excellent people skills and an ability to establish and build relationships across multiple agencies and community organisations.
Applicants must hold an Officer of the Watch (Deck) STCW 95, a Skipper (Full) or Skipper (Limited) STCW-F level of qualification or be naval equivalent qualified. A degree level qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
