Inishgort Lighthouse - Solarisation of Navigational Light

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that on the 25th October 2000, or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, the present gas light at Inishgort Lighthouse (A6278) will be replaced with a Solar Powered Light.
The new Solar Powered Light will be exhibited during hours of darkness only.
The character, phasing and ranges of the existing and new lights are as follows:
EXISTING GAS LIGHT

Range: 10 nautical miles
Height above MHWS: 11 metres
Lighting time: 24 hours

 

NEW SOLAR LIGHT

Character: L. Fl. W 10s
Range: 10 nautical miles
Height above MHWS: 11 metres
Lighting time: HOURS OF DARKNESS ONLY

No further notice will be issued.
