The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that on 15 Sept 2008 or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, a temporary experimental buoy will be established as follows:
 
BLACK ROCK XP BUOY
Latitude 52° 08.219' N (WGS 84)
Longitude 06° 24.929' W (WGS 84)
Character Fl (4) Y 10secs
Range 4nm
Type Special Mark: Yellow Pillar Buoy with Yellow X Topmark

The purpose of this buoy is to trial new aids to navigation technology with a view to developing improved levels of performance and service to the mariner. This buoy has no navigational significance.
Radio Navigation Warnings will be issued when the buoy is deployed.
