Bull Rock Lighthouse - Upgrade of Navigational Light

Area: South West Coast of Ireland

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that on 6th September 2000, or as soon thereafter as circumstances permit, it is intended to replace the light at Bull Rock (A6430) with a new optic. This will necessitate the provision of a temporary light for a period of approximately one month.
The new light will commence operation on or about 6th October 2000.
The character, phasing and ranges of the existing, temporary and new lights are as follows:
EXISTING LIGHT

Range: 21 nautical miles
Sector: 220° - 186° (326°)

TEMPORARY LIGHT

Range: 11 nautical miles
Sector: 220° - 186° (326°)
Height above MHWS: 81 metres
Lighting Time: Hours of Darkness

 

NEW LIGHT

Radio Navigational Warnings will be issued on the establishment of the temporary light and on the commencement of the new light.
